Lake Chaffe

Lake Chaffee was formed from a small pond and surrounding swamp when an earthen dam/levee was installed sometime prior to 1934. The community is comprised of about 700 lots and presently fewer than 260 Lake Chaffee property owners.

Ordinances

Commentary

Ordinances are the "laws" of the community, enforceable by citation and fine in accordance with the charter granted by the Connecticut State Legislature.

The rules for creation and abolition of ordinances are the By-Laws.

Ordinances may be adopted by the LCIA board of directors without prior approval of the membership.

HOWEVER, the membership may subsequenty recind any ordinance by a majority vote in accordance with the By-Laws.
